Kathryn Herrity (née Chen) is a Senior Trade Auditor.  She assists clients in preparing for audits and risk assessment meetings, selecting and reviewing statistical samples, perfecting disclosures, and identifying compliance risks.  She uses her recent experience at U.S. Customs to assist clients in understanding: the needs and concerns of U.S. Customs officials, the procedures U.S. Customs follows and why, and how to formulate effective responses to U.S. Customs inquiries and requests for information.

Before joining Deleon Trade, Kathryn served as a Senior Auditor and Field Quality Auditor of U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Trade Regulatory Audit in Chicago for 14 years.  As Field Quality Auditor, Kathryn collaborated with leadership to ensure quality work by 25 auditors by performing quality assurance reviews at key points throughout the audits and nonaudit services and overseeing improvements.  She also provided technical guidance to local audit staff and developed and instructed to audit staff nationwide on topics like supply chain tracing and TSA audits.  As Senior Auditor, Kathryn built a comprehensive audit and non-audit service portfolio.  Kathryn specialized in antidumping duties, disclosures, offsetting, statistical sampling evaluations, user fees, EAPA investigations, risk and analysis survey assessments, forced labor and supply chain tracing, and the streamlined audit approach that start with risk assessment meetings.  

She has successfully completed multiple advanced training courses with U.S. Customs including: Supply Chain Tracing, Streamlined Audit Approach, User Fees/TSAs, Advanced Valuation, Statistical Sampling, Free Trade Agreements, and USMCA.
